Introduction to Computer Applications

11.01200 | 9th grade | full year | .5 Credit

This course is designed to reinforce keyboarding skills through concentrated drill work as well as introduce the student to the concepts of word processing and other application software as well as basic webpage design skills. Time is spent in class discussing morality on the web, and there will be various projects required during the year. Instruction is given for the production of letters, reports, tables, database, spreadsheets, web pages and multimedia presentations utilizing the computer.

Web Technologies

11.01500 | 10th - 12th grades | half or full year | .5 or 1 credit

This course introduces client-side Internet programming using HTML and JavaScript. Topics include site management and development, markup elements, style sheets, validation, accessibility, standards, and JavaScript. Upon completion, students should be able to hand-code web pages with various media elements according to current markup standards and integrate them into websites.

Introduction to JAVA

11.01400 | 10th - 12th grades | half or full year | .5 or 1 credit

Students will learn advanced object oriented programming methods and how to apply them in Java. Topics covered in this course include: one and two dimensional arrays, advanced data structures, algorithms, and Big-O analysis. Students will use this knowledge to create new abstractions with the existing standard Java libraries.
