Hannah L. Rowan Media Center
Students in grades 9 - 12 have access to the Hannah Laughlin Rowan Media Center during school hours with a class and when a teacher is present. The Media Center is open to all students during the hours of 11:15 – 1:30 pm, and when the Media Specialist is present. The Media Center has a circulating collection of 2,413 books, 83 DVDs, and 22 videos; reference books for teacher access; plus college catalogs for student use. The Media Center also houses magazines and other materials for students and teachers. There are computers for faculty/staff and student use, along with a printer and photo copier. The Media Center also has access to Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO), a project of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG). It is a web-based virtual library that provides access to subscription-only resources and USG-developed databases. The web-based virtual library includes encyclopedias, electronic books, 2000+ full-text periodicals, government publications, business directories, and editorially reviewed web-sites. The students have access to over 100 databases on a 24/7 basis from any Internet connected computer worldwide, giving the students the ability to use the system at home or from other locations.
