2017-2018 Course Registration Timeline

Tuesday, January 3rd
During advisory time all current freshmen and their advisors will meet in the library for a brief registration meeting with Mrs. Parker. She will explain the process and choices they have/don’t have for their sophomore year. Also, all current sophomores and their advisors will meet in Donovan’s Den for a brief registration meeting with Dr. Rock. He will explain the process and choices they have/don’t have for their junior year. All current juniors and their advisors will meet in room #105 for a brief registration meeting with Mrs. Kelly. She will explain the process and choices they have/don’t have for their senior year. All AP teachers will visit the Donovan’s Den and room #105 during the advisory time to discuss the AP courses. All students returning next year will receive a “schedule request form” at their meeting to take home, review with their parents, and return on Wednesday, January 4th. All seniors will meet in the gym under the supervision of Mr. Miller and Mr. Yuran.

Wednesday, January 4th – Friday, January 6th
All current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will meet with their advisors during Advisory and Study Hall times to work on next year’s student schedules, and verify their course sequence for meeting graduation requirements. Advisors will be provided with the necessary information in advance in order to successfully work with each student. Dr. Rock and Mrs. Parker will be available for any student who has a “unique” schedule or situation. The goal is that every student has a completed “schedule request form” ready to take home for parent approval (signature) by Thursday, January 5th. All advisors should make a copy of each student’s “schedule request form” before sending home the original. Dr. Rock may be pulling students out of classes throughout the day in order to meet this deadline. We both appreciate your flexibility on this need. There is a parent meeting beginning at 6:00 pm to explain the process on Wednesday, January 4th.

Friday, January 8th
All parent approved “schedule request forms” are due on this day. This concludes the registration process for the advisors. All students who have not returned a parent approved “schedule request form” will work directly through Mrs. Parker and Dr. Rock.

Please note the Parent Meeting scheduled on Wednesday, January 4th beginning at 6:00 pm in the gym. First semester report cards will also be distributed at this meeting. During the Parent Meeting we will discuss the registration process, course offerings, the HOPE Scholarship, and all AP courses guidelines. Any student wishing to enroll in an AP course MUST have at least one parent/guardian attend this meeting.
