Are You 100% Donovan?

September 10, 2014

Are You 100% Donovan?

If So, No Raise in Tuition for Next Year!!

At Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School, our mission is to educate students and bring them to a new level of understanding about themselves, the world, and how their actions impact others.   The Board of Trustees is humbled by this responsibility and works hard to safeguard the Donovan experience in/out of the classroom and develop leaders of compassion, courage, confidence, conscience and competence.  A major responsibility of the Board of Trustees each year is balancing a $1.5 million budget. This budget is necessary in order to meet the needs of the students we serve each year. To meet the budget demands the Board of Trustees is continually evaluating the expenses and revenue of the school. The revenue stream comes from a variety of sources including: tuition, student fees, annual fund contributions, grants, GA GOAL Scholarship, special events, etc… We appreciate all the support we receive from our families, friends, alumni, faculty/staff, and community partners who provide financial assistance.

The Donovan Annual Fund is one vehicle through which a large portion of contributions flow.  This year the Board of Trustees is focused on reaching the goal of 100% participation of current families in the Donovan Annual Fund. Currently, we have 100% participation from the Board of Trustees, the Faculty/Staff, and the Class of 2014 in the Donovan Annual Fund! The next step is to achieve 100% participation from our current families. Please help us reach this participation goal!! Many great things will come out of achieving this goal including an increase in grant funding opportunities, additional student resources, and a potential cap on tuition increases.

Currently, a $400 tuition increase and a $100 book fee increase are scheduled in next year’s budget. The Board of Trustees is proposing a 100% Donovan challenge to all of our current families. If we reach 100% participation from our current families in the Donovan Annual Fund by December 31, 2014 the Board of Trustees will remove the $500 increase in tuition/books for the coming year. If you are in favor of not raising tuition/book fees for the coming year please complete a pledge/contribution card and mail it in before December 31, 2014. The Board of Trustees is committed to maintaining an affordable Catholic education to all qualifying families wishing receive this life-changing gift. Please help us contribute to the success of our community by educating the hearts/minds of our children. The Donovan children are our future and our legacy. Therefore, it is imperative that we do all we can to ensure their success. Are you 100% Donovan?
